  • SEN Teaching Assistant (with BSL Level3), ref 16183
    Starting as soon as possible
    West London

    iQ is working with a client in West London that is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or LSA with at least British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification, although level 3 would be beneficial.

    Starting after Easter, the role will continue until the end of the summer term.  Initially a part-time role, for the right candidate, it could be a full time position.

    Our client is looking for a SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT who has excellent personal and social skills, who is dedicated to supporting the school in raising standards and working in partnership with others. You will need resilience, emotional maturity and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs. It is crucial to ensure the students' needs are at the core of every decision.

    You will have supported children with hearing, speech, language and communication needs in a classroom setting previously.

    The successful candidate will build supportive and trusting relationships with children; Work proactively with other members of the team; Support key customers to set personalised goals in the form of a Support Plan; Conduct regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals; Provide support with daily living activities, including practical assistance where skills are not yet developed, to ensure that children enjoy a high quality of education.

    You will need a valid Enhanced DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.
